2. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) 🛡️
Methods (in order of priority):
- Cultural: Crop rotation, sanitation, resistant varieties.
- Physical/Mechanical: Hand picking, barriers, traps.
- Biological: Predators, parasitoids (natural enemies).
- Chemical: Pesticides (Last resort!).
3. Types of Pests 🐛
- Insects: Chewing (caterpillars) vs Sucking (aphids).
- Pathogens: Fungi, Bacteria, Viruses, Nematodes.
- Weeds: Grasses, Sedges, Broadleaves.
- Vertebrates: Rats, Birds.
