📜 Brief History ng PNP:

1901: Philippine Constabulary (PC) - First national police under American rule

1975: INP (Integrated National Police) - Unified under President Marcos

1991: PNP Created - RA 6975 merged PC & INP under civilian control (DILG)

1998: RA 8551 - Major reforms, professionalization

RA 6975 - DILG Act of 1990

Created the PNP, abolished PC-INP. Placed PNP under DILG (civilian control).

Signed: December 13, 1990 | Effective: January 1, 1991

RA 8551 - PNP Reform & Reorganization Act of 1998

Professionalized PNP, created NAPOLCOM, set educational qualifications.

Key: NAPOLCOM exercises administrative control over PNP

RA 9708 - Educational Requirement for Promotion

Requires baccalaureate degree for promotion to Inspector and above.

RA 11200 - PNP Reorganization Act of 2018

Latest reorganization law. Changed rank nomenclature to military-style.

RA 10591 - Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act

Regulates firearms ownership, licensing, registration.
