1. Therapeutic Communication š£ļø

ā Do's
- Broad openings ("Tell me more")
- Restating/Reflecting
- Silence (Therapeutic)
- Presenting reality (for hallucinations)
ā Don'ts
- Advice giving ("You should...")
- False reassurance ("It will be okay")
- Asking "Why?" (Judgemental)
- Belittling feelings
2. Anxiety Levels š°
- Mild: Alert, increased perception. Good for learning.
- Moderate: Narrowed perception. Can still follow direction.
- Severe: Greatly reduced perception. Cannot problem solve.
- Panic: Loss of control, terror. Safety is priority!
3. Defense Mechanisms š”ļø
- Denial: Refusing to acknowledge reality.
- Projection: Blaming others.
- Displacement: Transferring anger to a safer target.
- Rationalization: Making excuses.
- Regression: Returning to earlier developmental stage.
- Sublimation: Channeling impulses into acceptable behavior (Healthy).
