Describing Motion

Distance is total path; displacement is straight-line change in position. Speed = distance ÷ time.

Speed = distance ÷ time

Waves, Sound, and Light

Waves carry energy. Sound needs a medium; light can travel through a vacuum and is faster.

⚠️ Common Mistake

You see lightning before you hear thunder because light travels much faster than sound.

Heat and Electricity

Heat moves from hot to cold by conduction, convection, and radiation. A circuit needs a source, conductor, and load to make current flow.

Worked Example

A car travels 150 m in 10 s. Find its speed.

Speed = 150 m ÷ 10 s = 15 m/s
